Wow! Invest a few minutes reviewing the results of this summer’s Health Leaders’ Survey as the readers @ Ted Ball.com provide their “best advice” to our new Minister, Hon. Eric Hoskins, and to Deputy, Dr. Bob Bell.
The 200 healthcare leaders participating in our survey included CEOs and Board Chairs/ Board Members — from hospitals, CCACs, community agencies, homecare providers, the LHIN Boards/Staff, MOHLTC officials, politicians and their political staff; healthcare associations, health professional organizations, and numerous healthcare professions’ regulatory bodies.
You will see in our survey how these health system leaders describe the healthcare environment and assess the relationships between HSPs — and government — in very blunt, to-the-point terms.
Doctors Bell/Hoskins are lucky. Survey participants clearly want our new Minster and Deputy to succeed. This is a survey in which participants offer up their best advice on priorities, strategic direction and structure.
Read the heart-felt outpouring of advice to our new Minister of Health — based on the wisdom gained from the “School-Of-Hard Knocks”; and, from their best advice about health system priorities and strategic directions.
As you read these results, I ask that you reflect on this question: since it is very rare for Ministers & Deputies to actually step up and solve all the problems that we face in the health sector: What could your Board do; what could your CEO and Senior Team do; what could middle managers do to align themselves and what could you do to address these issues?
